The Nurses, the doctors and the Admininstrative staff all have a passion to improve care

The BiRCH Clinic is located in the Wellness Centre at the Campbell River. The administrative staff and nurses are part of the Chronic Disease Management Program. Dr Valentyna Koval is an Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr Jennifer Kask and Dr Brianna Crighton are family physicians who provide maternity care at the Campbell River Maternity Clinic.

Birch Clinic was started as a Quality Improvement Project

The Campbell River Medical Staff Association provided funding to meet as a team and develop plans in 2022/23. We continue to evaluate the effectiveness of the work and we are happy to be part of Spread Quality Improvement as we share resources with the team on the West Coast.

What can you expect at the Birch Clinic day?

Angie will reach out by phone and book an appointment. Try to get your labs done in the weeks before your appointment. The nurse (Kerry) will do a phone intake before the in-person appointment. On the clinic day bring your baby if you want; measurements will be taken, then you will meet with the family physician and the internal medicine specialist.

BiRCH Clinic Visits in the North Island

Dr Kask and Dr Koval travel periodically to the communities of Port Hardy and Port McNeill; if you live in a Mt Waddington Community you can be offered a BiRCH Clinic visit "closer to home."
